Who Knew???
Apparently, if your kids drop your cellphone off the deck, onto the patio below, and you don't know it...then you wash off your patio with the hose several times...only to find your phone a couple of days later laying in a pool of standing water...It won't work...Who knew???

Yes friends...it happened...and I was there to see it all! I may not have a voice, my head quite possibly is throbbing more than it ever has, and I'm pretty sure they guy behind me was spitting sunflower seeds in my general direction the entire game...but WE WON!!! Woohoo...Go BEAVERS!

Maybe in Africa
As I was searching in the fridge for some veggies last night, I put the wonderful farmers market corn on the cob we have, on the counter in order to access what was underneath. Well...Little to my knowledge, one of those ears was home to a little green caterpillar and the moving and jostling in and out of the fridge made it fall from it's home, and land on my counter top.
I normally would have tossed the little inhabitant outside, washed my hands, and went on with my cooking...but Kallen was having a rather whiney, complainy, "man it's hard being 2" kind of an afternoon, so I decided to give him the little caterpillar, to take outside and do with as he may!
I called him over, picked the little guy off the counter and told him to take it outside. Without missing a beat, in a very confused and concerned state of mind, he put the pillar on his arm, and looked at me and said..."mommy...why you cooking caterpillar for dinner?"

Not Trying, but Not Preventing
No, no...it's not what you think...though I was laughing pretty hard when I thought of that title.
Here's the real deal! Kynlee has never been one to be discrete when she's "filling her britches". If she's not red in the face and grunting in the middle of the floor, then she's grabbing onto a table and straining with all her might...you know, to where it's obvious what she's doing. For the last couple of months or so, I've been saying "Kynlee, are you going poo poo." or simply "poo poo" when I see her "routine". Not really thinking anything of it, other than it can't hurt to start introducing her to "potty" things, and making her aware that she's actually doing something. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago she was walking around the house grunting and straining, so I thought I'd rush her to the toilet and she if she'd go there. She did!!! I keep clapping and saying "good girl Kynlee, good job going poo poo", once again not really thinking anything would come of it!
Well, Kynlee now walks around patting her bottom saying "go poo poo", EVERY time she has a poopy diaper, and every once in a while she'll even tell us before she goes. It's about 4 days now that she has truly told us while she's going, or immediately after, and insists on sitting on the potty. I'm a little baffled by the whole thing, and curious just how long it's actually going to last, but if she wants to start doing the same thing when she simply pees...I won't stop her!!!
Now, let me make myself clear...we are by no means trying to "potty train" Kynlee, but if she wants to start doing it herself...we sure won't complain!!!

Wordless Wednesday, Kati Style
Well...I've got no time for words, so wordless Wednesday is definitely fitting! Here are a few pictures from our trip to Pennsylvania!
Our dinner at Pimanti Bros, where Kevin ate this sandwich...
...probably our favorite meal of the whole trip...Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, filled with sour kraut and french fries...it was delicious!!!
The game...I know, don't talk about it...we all know the results!
...but, the stadium was amazing, and the 108,000 people in attendance was quite impressive.
Our transportation for the weekend...Whose idea was it to give Kevin a Mustang to "tear up"???
Go Steelers...Quite the stadium and fans as well, though only 64,000 in attendance, and not near the atmosphere as the "other" game we shall continue to not talk about.
Looking at downtown Pittsburgh from Heinz Stadium.
Oh, and Kynlee cause she's just too darn cute!!!
So there you have it...Wordless Wednesday, Kati style, where as it turns out, I've got things to say after all...fancy that!
Blessings,
Kati

All Tied up in Knots
Well folks...my stomach is so tied up in knots right now, I can hardly stand it. I don't know whether to go sit in a corner and cry...or to poor myself a drink, and make it a double...or maybe a triple would be better! Anyways...
Kevin and I fly out in exactly 8 hours, for our first "vacation" since either kiddo was born. We've been here or there for a night or two...but never a real vacation, until now. Oh, and let me add, that this will be the first time ever leaving Kynlee where one of us hasn't been there...ahhh!
Where are we headed you ask??? To the Oregon State vs. Penn State football game of course, where else! Yes my friends...Kevin and I are flying across the country to watch our beloved Beavers play football...how dedicated are we! I am truly truly excited to be going, and know that we will have a blast once we are there, and that we will come home to our beautiful children in as good of health as we left them, and I can almost guarantee they will have all their fingers and toes even.....but that doesn't make it any easier. It's just an eiery feeling to be so far away from them, and to be heading into a tropical storm non the less! Who does this "hanna" think she is anyways? We are leaving 80+ degree weather, to be greeted by 60 or 70 degree thundershowers...go figure!
Anyways...the knots will subside, and we will have a blast on our fun filled weekend of sight seeing, OSU football, Steelers football, and time together in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania (so I've heard) So, be thinking and praying for us as we "brave" the storm, and leave our kiddos behind!
Oh, and on a happy note...I WILL FINALLY BE GETTING SOME SLEEP...and if Kevin even tries to wake me up before my body wishes to be woken up...he will be sleeping in the hall! I'll let you all now how that goes!
So, until Monday...this is "fare-well"!

Sometimes...
Sometimes there is fighting...
sometimes there is laughter...
sometimes there are tears...
sometimes there are smiles...
sometimes there are punches thrown...
sometimes there are hugs shared...
...I think you get the picture...
and sometimes...I just want to eat them up because they're just so darn cute!
