Over the mountain, and Through the Woods

A few weeks ago the kids and I traveled over "the mountain" to spend a little vacation time with my mom and dad...nema and bapa...at Eagle Crest. Since our side of "the mountain" hadn't really seen sun in a few decades or so...the beautiful and much needed vitamin D was graciously accepted! So here's the proof, with a little added commentary that I'm sure you're all just dying to read!!!

We couldn't keep Kallen off his bike, though he was a little "brake" happy on some of the steep paths. You know...the ones that a pencil won't even roll down unless it's given a little nudge. yah...a little afraid of speed, this one!!!
I told Kynlee to say "cheese", and Kallen proudly rode up next to her exclaiming the same thing!

She then "told him off", because she was supposed to be saying "cheese", not him!

Later that week, we got all "dolled" up...pun intended, and took our dollies for a walk.

I'm pretty sure we stopped every few feet to adjust the babies because they were "crying"!

Then we were off again, and didn't stop until we were headed home!

All Tied up in Knots

Well folks...my stomach is so tied up in knots right now, I can hardly stand it. I don't know whether to go sit in a corner and cry...or to poor myself a drink, and make it a double...or maybe a triple would be better! Anyways...

Kevin and I fly out in exactly 8 hours, for our first "vacation" since either kiddo was born. We've been here or there for a night or two...but never a real vacation, until now. Oh, and let me add, that this will be the first time ever leaving Kynlee where one of us hasn't been there...ahhh!

Where are we headed you ask??? To the Oregon State vs. Penn State football game of course, where else! Yes my friends...Kevin and I are flying across the country to watch our beloved Beavers play football...how dedicated are we! I am truly truly excited to be going, and know that we will have a blast once we are there, and that we will come home to our beautiful children in as good of health as we left them, and I can almost guarantee they will have all their fingers and toes even.....but that doesn't make it any easier. It's just an eiery feeling to be so far away from them, and to be heading into a tropical storm non the less! Who does this "hanna" think she is anyways? We are leaving 80+ degree weather, to be greeted by 60 or 70 degree thundershowers...go figure!

Anyways...the knots will subside, and we will have a blast on our fun filled weekend of sight seeing, OSU football, Steelers football, and time together in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania (so I've heard) So, be thinking and praying for us as we "brave" the storm, and leave our kiddos behind!

Oh, and on a happy note...I WILL FINALLY BE GETTING SOME SLEEP...and if Kevin even tries to wake me up before my body wishes to be woken up...he will be sleeping in the hall! I'll let you all now how that goes!

So, until Monday...this is "fare-well"!

Blessings,

A Little Time Away!!!

Wow, what a busy couple of weeks we've had...which I guess is good cause it means we're adjusting to being a family of four, and getting out and about!!! As a result, I've been a little MIA to the blogging world...Sorry!

Anyways, we all just got back from a few relaxing days at the lake, and now we're just trying to get back into the swing of things here at home! This was our first "camping" trip as a family, and things went as smoothly as could be expected. I say "camping", cause there's no settin' up tents, sleepin' on the ground, peein' in the woods or "roughin' it" to the way we camp. We bring along our nice comfortable camper with four walls and a roof, a kitchen, and even our own bathroom!!!

It's still camping to me however, and some what of a challenge with a 5 week old, and almost 2 year old! We managed thought, and rather well if you ask me!

We enjoyed some 90 degree weather, 75 degree lake water, and lots of good company! I even got out behind the boat and skied, wakeboarded and did a little wake surfing! Needless to say I'm pretty sore today, but it was worth it!!!
Kallen trying out our friends Jet Ski...Don't worry, he's only in a foot of water, and Kevin is right there with him!!!

Lots of love for our "chunky monkey"

Kynlee's favorite part of camping...sleeping!

No Explosion

Sorry for the suspence these past few days. No I didn't explode with the fireworks on Wednesday, and no we don't have a baby yet! Sorry...I know you are all on pins and needles waiting to hear the news, and at this point, it looks like you'll have to wait until Wednesday (after the induction) for that!

Even though I didn't "explode" on the 4th, I did have a very calm and relaxing day! Kevin had to work, so our friends Brandy and Chris picked Kallen and I up and took us to the lake for the day!

I was able to sit in the shade with my big glass of water and relax! My mom and dad were there, and took turns with Kallen. Playing in the boat, digging in the sand, running around the dock, etc., etc.

It was "just what the doctor ordered"! Thanks Chris & Brandy for the ride, and thanks mom, dad & TJ for watching the little guy! You are all so greatly appreciated!

Taking Advantage

Yesterday was my friend Brandy's birthday! Happy Birthday to you Brandy! Anyways...we (another friend Ellie and I) decided we would treat her to breakfast and a pedicure...a surprise of course!

The problem with surprises is that often times something comes up that "ruins" the surprise, or changes the plans slightly! Well that happened this time too. Brandy's son Dawson has had a reddish watering eye for the past week or so, and she decided to take him in to see the eye doctor right at the same time we were planning breakfast. Okay...change of plans. We waited until the appointment was over, settled for Starbucks coffee and a muffin, and headed to our Pedicures.

The thing about treating a friend to something so wonderful, is that you yourself get to enjoy it as well! There is nothing like sitting in a nice warm pulsating chair with your feet in a hot spa bath, getting the royal treatment, while chatting with close friends and drinking a Frapacino! Oh, and did I mention no kids!!!

The House can Wait!

Well, it's 8:45 in the morning, and I've basically just rolled out of bed. I took the dog out, grabbed some yogurt and grape nuts, and headed to the computer for my morning email check! Huh...now what? You see, Kevin's mom and dad took Kallen over the mountain to their cabin last night (we're joining them as soon as Kevin gets off work). They thought it would be fun for them, and it would give Kevin and I a night alone to hang out and spend some time together! Great idea...only, what do we do? When Kevin got home yesterday, we both kind of looked at each other and began the whole back and forth "what do you want to do?" "I don't know...what do you want to do?" Is Kallen really that central in our lives? I guess so!

We finally settled on mapping out the plans for our yard...since our beautiful little house is still surrounded by a muddy moat, picked up a barbecue at my mom and dads, got some Taco Bell for dinner and headed to some friends to watch a late night movie! We were home and in bed around 11:30, which is WAY past our normal 9:30/10:00 bedtime, and here I am this morning, with the same delima...What now?

Yesterday when I knew Kallen was going to be gone, I wrote down a list of "to do's"...Deep clean the house, Paint the living room, babies room, and master bath, finish cleaning and organizing my craft room, reorganize the pantry, etc, etc, etc...I know...those things don't seem like something you would want to do when you have a day away from the kiddo, but they're all things that need to be done, and would be rather difficult with Kallen tugging at my legs the whole time...so that was my list. Now that it's morning time, I've had breakfast, and it's time to start in on the day...I think I may just grab a blanket, some hot chocolate, and curl up on the couch with a good book! There's nothing wrong with that...right!!!
